| Though now retired, the PRV played a
crucial role in the history of Lafayette EMS. During our initial
formative years we did not have an ambulance for transporting patients to
the hospital. Our members would respond to the scene and provide
immediate care to the patients while awaiting transport. The PRV was
equipped with all of the necessary medical equipment needed to stabilize and
prepare a patient for transport to the hospital, landing zone or other
appropriate destination.
